In Remembrance

You smiled with your eyes, laughed with your tail, and loved with your heart.

In Loving Memory : Meet the Team

Bean (April 2023- January 2024)

Bean arrived at our rescue with his sister Jelly as a duckling. Bean developed a leg issue at a few months old causing his mobility to become limited. Our short and stocky boy was able to enjoy the summer outside with his flock and stayed inside the house when the weather was colder. Bean sadly suddenly passed away in his sleep days before his adoption. While Bean may have never made it to his permanent home, we considered him to be at home with us.

Peep (April 2023-August 2023)

Where do I even start with sweet Peep, our first disabled duck. He was given to us by a concerned Tractor Supply employee for his leg disability. After rehabilitation, as a duckling and juvenile Peep was able to walk and run! Unfortunately, during his last growth spurt, he regressed and his mobility became limited. That's when his new journey began; as a house duck with a wheelchair. He was given the absolute best and spoiled life by two of our rescue members. Peep passed away suddenly with a suspected cardiac event. He was loved by everyone and the knowledge we gained from him will allow us to help other disabled ducks in the future.

Cricket (May 2020-September 2023)

Cricket, part of our farm duck clan we brought home in 2020, was nicked-named "Mother Duck". Once she started laying eggs, she began her mountainous nest building. She was very protective of her eggs, gathering her eggs was always an interesting time. She was a Pekin Cayuga mix.

 Kaia (May 2020 - October 2021)

Kaia, our third farm duck, was also a Pekin Cayuga mix however took on mainly the Cayuga coloring. She was quiet and independent. Her eggs had a light blue shell. Unfortunately, we lost Kaia suddenly in October 2021. We suspect she had an underlying heart condition. She is forever in our hearts.

Millie (August 2021-March 2022)

Millie came to us from a farm with Penny. Millie was a Cayuga Khaki Campbell mix.

Mayzie (April 2021-December 2021)

Mayzie was our second Silver Appleyard. She was the most reserved and was very independent. She will be greatly missed.
